A piece of nostalgia in Sayville

The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce put together a fundraiser for their Small Business Relief Fund in a three-evening, two shows a night, movie. The chamber hosted the first showing of the night held on Friday, June 26, which featured a short film created by senior Krista Birong, for the Sayville High School graduating class with 90 cars. Thunderstorms threatened the second evening on Saturday, June 27, but the storm held off for a sold-out event, and moviegoers were treated to Sonic the Hedgehog or Ferris Bueller’s Day Off for a fun, family night at the movies. The Sayville Movie Theater donated free popcorn for the occasion. President Eileen Tyznar wanted the community to experience their first drive-in movie and also have the seniors experience some much needed fun on what would have been their graduation day. Food donations were also taken at each show for the Sayville Food Pantry.
