The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce is proud to host a fundraiser for the American Legion Smith-Wever Post #651.

We are raising these funds for two new monuments to be added to Sparrow Park located at 38 Middle Road in Sayville. (South Main Street)

Across the country and around the world, U.S. war, military and veterans memorials stand to honor those who served in uniform and the battles they fought to protect our nation’s freedoms. Monuments can be seen in years to come and withstand the test of time.

War memorials are important because they often represent historical benchmarks that enable visitors/viewers to remember, understand, and acknowledge those affected by war.

The two monuments these funds would be used for are for a memorial stone for the Gulf War and one for the Iraq/Afghanistan War.

We would like to be able to unveil and dedicate the two new memorial stones on this upcoming 2022 Memorial Day at Sparrow Park for the yearly wreath dedication ceremony. The ceremony takes place right after the Main Street Memorial Day Parade. Let’s show our Sayville and West Sayville Patriotism!
