“The golf outing is one of the Chamber’s most successful events,” said John Cox President of the Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce. “Last years event was well attended and helped support our multiple efforts throughout the year to promote Sayville.”
As in years past, the Golf Annual is also an opportunity for the Chamber to honor individuals who make Sayville a better place to live, work and shop. This year’s honorees are Gerard Scollan of Lovin’ Oven and Janet Berger, of Century 21 Bays Edge Real Estate.
Gerard is the founder and principal owner of Lovin’ Oven Celebrations headquartered in Sayville and has been the company’s Chief Executive Officer for thirty years. A graduate from the Culinary Institute of America, Gerard has extensive knowledge of the hospitality business and still applies a hands-on management approach to ensure the company’s high standards are consistently maintained. In addition to his service as a successful Sayville business owner, Gerard has also been a benefactor of organizations such as United Cerebral Palsy of Suffolk, City Harvest, the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Stony Brook Hospital, Patchogue YMCA, Bellport Boys & Girls Club, and NYC Outbound Schools.
Janet Berger is owner and broker of Century 21 Bay’s Edge Realty in Sayville. A graduate of Sayville High school, Janet opened her first real estate office in 1983 in West Sayville. Since that time, Janet has been committed to providing her clients with superior service and her efforts were confirmed in 1997, when Bay’s Edge Realty received the Century 21’s Pinnacle Quality Service Award. The award recognized Janet’s dedication to making each and every client interaction a positive one. As both a resident and merchant within Sayville, Janet has dedicated her time and energies to the Sayville Chamber of Commerce, and events including the Sayville Summerfest, Fall Festival, and fundraisers for local families in need. Today, Janet remains committed to leading Century 21 Bay’s Edge Realty in both assisting clients with their home-buying needs and preserving a high quality of life for her local community
“We’re excited to honor both Janet and Gerard as they truly represent the best-of-the-best of Sayville,” said Rich D’Andrea, Golf Annual Chairperson. “This year’s honorees are both successful business owners and philanthropists who serve as role models for the entire Sayville Community.”
